Electrical energy is indispensable in present-day society. 
While the share of green electricity generation such as wind turbines and photovoltaic panels keeps increasing, the demand side is projected to keep growing tremendously, e.g. due to the strong increase in electrical cars.

In every case, it involves high voltage environments when generating, converting and transmitting electricity.

Miraex sensors can be deployed in applications such as electricity generators, high voltage transmission lines for households, industries and transportation (eg. trains), where all those critical assets need to be monitored and maintained in a constant operating mode to avoid any electricity shut-down.

In addition, lack of control in this high voltage environment combined with unexpected natural events can lead to massive fire destruction as the one which happened in California in 2019, originated from power lines hit by trees. PG&E utility equipments were recognized as source of the fire. 80’000 customer claimed billions of dollars in losses.

Those environments are very often lethal for humans and animals, therefore security is a very high concern.

Therefore, there is a crucial need for in-situ, real-time, full network asset monitoring, anomaly detection and predictive maintenance.

Off-the-shelf electronics-based sensors have so called ESD protection (Electrostatic Discharge) which are typically from 500 to 2’000V, and this protection only work for a short amount of time, beyond that they simply break or are short-circuit hazards.
